Elite Entertainment, founded in 1993, was initially created to fill a void in the laserdisc community. At the time it was clear that HORROR/SCI-FI titles were not getting any "special" treatment. No deleted scenes. No "lost" footage. Not even a theatrical trailer. It was evident that if we wanted to see a "Special Edition" of our favorite HORROR/SCI-FI films, we were going to have to do it ourselves. Our premiere LD release was a "Special Collector's Edition" of George A. Romero's original 1968 classic "NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD." For this very important project, we enlisted the help of Lucasfilm's THX program. The result was a laserdisc release that was nominated for two 1995 Laserdisc Awards.

As the next several years progressed, ELITE ENTERTAINMENT continued to restore and release such "special edition" LDs as A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET (parts 1,2, and 3), THE STEPFORD WIVES, DAWN OF THE DEAD, RE-ANIMATOR, TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE(parts 1 and 2), PROM NIGHT and the HAMMER COLLECTION.

Now that the world has made the jump to DVD, so has ELITE ENTERTAINMENT. Since the introduction of the format we have released many HORROR/SCI-FI titles on DVD, including COMMUNION, RE-ANIMATOR, LADY IN WHITE, THE EVIL DEAD, I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE, HORROR HOTEL and the one that started it all, NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD. We have also recently launched our highly anticipated DVD series DRIVE-IN DISCS™.

There are many exciting things happening at ELITE ENTERTAINMENT. This year will bring many new classic DVD titles as well as several new and never-before-seen films premiering on DVD. So, for those of you who have been collecting ELITE ENTERTAINMENT's laserdisc and DVD releases since the beginning, we sincerely thank you.
